AFTER THE EMPIRE
This was our first project, designed on Ryan Mauk's dining room table with scraps of white paper, borrowed game pieces, and bad penmanship. Even back then, we loved this game! Now it's got awesome plastic walls and turrets that really make you feel like you're ready to defend your city from the sieging hordes, and nice printed play-test versions of the boards, cards, and cutouts.
We originally planned to self publish before working with Grey Fox Games, who thankfully took over. This has allowed us to spend more time working on the game itself, and let them focus on production, marketing, etc. With their help, the game is now better than ever and we're in the final phases of development. We look forward to Grey Fox kickstarting this game sometime very soon! Check out examples of some of our wonderful artists' contributions in the gallery on the right! See more details about the game here.
Even with the luck of working with Grey Fox, we will still need the help of generous and wonderful folks like you to help us reach our goals with pre-orders and crowdfunding. Check here or on Grey Fox's website in the near future for pre-order details and dates. With your help, After the Empire will go to kickstarter in 2019! Please check in with your local brick and mortar retail game store, as they're a vital part of the gaming industry. If they haven't heard about us yet, direct them to our page and have them send us a message so we can help get them involved!

Playtesting at PAX!

Check out the newly printed (although very color muted) cards!

Evan's handwriting is really bad.

You'll likely see this piece implemented in our first expansion, Hillside!

www.thegamecrafter.com and www.printplaygames.com are both great resources for prototyping.

A little more detail on the gatehouse and turret piece sketch designs.

I actually survived this battle. Yes, that's a stack of 16 invaders attacking my south wall.
